United Nations University Scholarships for Developing Country Students

The JFUNU scholarship covers the full tuition fees, and provides a monthly allowance of 150,000 JPY* for living expenses for a maximum of 24 months. Travel costs to and from Japan, visa handling fees, and health/accident insurance costs must be covered by the student.

Eligibility:

Applicants for the Master of Science in Sustainability, Development, and Peace are required to have met the following requirements by the application deadline in order to be considered:

• a completed bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university or institution of higher education

• A particular interest and career aspiration in at least one of the following thematic areas: Global Change and Sustainability, Peace and Security, International Cooperation and Development

• English language proficiency

During admission selection process, outstanding applicants from developing countries with financial need will be automatically considered as candidates for the award of the JFUNU scholarship. Thus, no separate application is necessary.

ISH/London Met Scholarships for Developing Countries

The ISH/London Met Scholarships is jointly run by International Students House (ISH) and London Metropolitan University. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding students from selected developing countries who wish to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University. Host Institution(s):

Applications from countries other than those listed will not be considered for an ISH scholarship. If you are not in this list, consider applying for London Met Scholarships for International Students which is open to students from any country.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

Successful candidates receive free tuition for the duration of their degree at undergraduate or postgraduate level plus one year of free accommodation at International Students House.

Eligibility:

Eligible students applying for the ISH/London Met scholarship must hold an unconditional offer on one of the undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses offered by the University.

Applicants are judged on academic merit and on the likely economic/social benefit to their home country. (This must be clearly demonstrated in the personal statement. Evidence of paid and/or voluntary work done should also be included in the scholarship application, where applicable).

Sydney Achievers International Scholarships

The Sydney Achievers International Scholarships provides new international students who wants to study in University of Sydney in Australia.  These prestigious scholarships are aimed at attracting high achieving, academically meritorious, international students to enjoy the ‘Sydney experience’ at one of the finest institutions of higher education in the world. Host Institution:

Up to 100 of these prestigious Scholarships will be offered in 2013 to high achieving, academically meritorious, international students.

The scholarships are for international students from any country.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

For the undergraduate scholarships, each scholarship has a value of AUD$10,000 per annum, available for a maximum of three years, (total value AUD$30,000) for any Undergraduate program offered at the University of Sydney (subject to the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress each year).

For the postgraduate scholarships, each  scholarship has a value of AUD$10,000 each, available as a one-off award (AUD$10,000 each per annum, (ie, $15,000 in total for a 1.5 year program, $20,000 in total for a 2 year program) for any Postgraduate Coursework program offered at the University of Sydney.

Living allowance is NOT included in the scholarships.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate Scholarships

Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification or an international senior secondary qualification accepted by the University with an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 98* or equivalent.

Students who have already commenced tertiary studies, or students transferring with credit exemptions and/or advanced standing are not eligible. Students completing Foundation Studies Programs are also not eligible.

Postgraduate Scholarships

Applicants must have completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree qualification with a minimum high distinction average as based on the Australian grading system. Students who have already commenced postgraduate studies, or students transferring from other postgraduate programs are not eligible.

Application instructions:

Only applicants with unconditional offers of admission will be considered. No separate application for a scholarship is necessary. An application for admission to the University of Sydney in 2013 will constitute an application for a scholarship. All applications meeting the selection and eligibility criteria will be automatically considered.

The deadline for receipt of applications and complete supporting documentation (academic and English language proficiency results) is 15  January 2013 (for Semester 1, 2013) and 30 June 2013 (for Semester 2, 2013). Applications received after these deadlines will not be considered.

Bocconi Scholarships in Italy for International Students

Eligibility:

Only applicants for the first year of a Bocconi Bachelor’s or Master’s program who meet all the following conditions will be taken into consideration for the awarding of the scholarship:

• non-Italian citizenship;

• non-Italian residence;

• a non-Italian Undergraduate degree earned abroad or in Italy.

Students who meet any of the following conditions will NOT be taken into consideration:

• previously enrolled in a graduate program in Italy or abroad;

• recipient of a scholarship awarded for the AY 2013-14 by private or public institutions.

Applicants must complete and submit the online Bocconi Scholarship online application form.   Scholarship applications must be submitted by the same deadline as that of applicant’s Bocconi online admission’s application which is administered in multiple rounds.
